Antler stained glass lighting by Ashley Delonas
Idaho-based mixed-media artist Ashley Delonas infuses her imagination, design skills, and love for the outdoors-mountain climbing, antler shed hunting, and rock hounding, among other pursuits- into her unigue, functional works of art. Both colorful and playful, her chandelier and pendant designs are built around the antlers, highlighting their organic shapes and forms. Then, she incorporates stained-glass, gemstones and polished rocks to fill the space in between. "bone became my canvas; glass, nature and light became my medium," she says, explaining how her work has evolved over the past ten years. We love the color combinations, eclectic use of natural materials, and the sculptural form each one takes on.

Pocatello artist Ashley Delonas returns to exclusive design conference in Jackson for a second year
Last year, Pocatello artist Ashley Delonas reached new heights in her career when she was accepted to an exclusive design show and sold her masterpiece — a 50-pound, five-panel stained glass antler chandelier named “Ascend” — for five digits.
That helped set her professional life off in a different direction, and she’s hoping for a repeat this year.
The Western Design Exhibit and Sale is held each year in Jackson, Wyoming. Delonas, whose business is named Mountain Girl Studios, says she is honored to be among the nearly 100 artists accepted to the show, which takes place Sept. 8 to 11....

Crafting A Living
In July of 2019, I was featured on Idaho Public Broadcasting System in a series titled “Outdoor Idaho.” This television program featured me in an episode titled “Crafting a Living.” The episode films my process of transforming moose, elk, and deer sheds into magnificent pieces of art incorporating stained glass, copper, and Idaho gemstones. I have also been featured in an article from the Idaho State Journal showcasing my success in forging a career in art and how my success as an artist is mirrored in my tenacity as I have overcome the challenges of being one of a handful of women summiting Idaho’s 9 tallest peaks.
